Contact & communication
URL — open a website. vCard — save contact details to the phone book. Email — pre-fill a new email. SMS — pre-fill a text message. Phone — start a phone call.
On-site & offline
WiFi — auto-connect to WiFi. Location — open maps at a coordinate. Event — add an event to the calendar. Menu — show a restaurant menu. Coupon — redeemable discount code. Payment — trigger a payment (SEPA, PayPal, crypto).
Content
Text — plain text. PDF — upload and share a PDF. Image/Video/Audio — share media files. App Store — redirect to iOS or Android app automatically. Social — open a social profile.
How to pick the right type
Start with what action you want the scanner to take. Open a website → URL. Save a contact → vCard. Connect to WiFi → WiFi. Redirect iOS/Android users to the right store → App Store.
